In creating the new Glide 3.0 wedges, PING engineers wanted to make advances in terms of spin, forgiveness, feel, and versatility. Accomplishing those goals has been done in several ways, starting with patented wheel-cut grooves that increase ball interaction to create more spin. The grooves in the lower-lofted wedges (46, 50, and 52 degrees) are less aggressive to provide optimal performance on full shots, while the higher-lofted wedges (54, 56, 58, and 60 degrees) feature a deeper sidewall and sharper edge radius to provide maximum spin around the green.
Additionally, Glide 3.0 wedges feature a higher-MOI clubhead. An elastomer insert also combines with soft 431 stainless steel to provide improved feel at impact. Most notable, however, are the four different sole grinds that are available in the Glide 3.0 lineup to meet the needs of any player. The TS is a low-bounce option, while the SS is a mid-bounce option and the WS a high-bounce option. Additionally, the new Eye2 Grind provides players with incredible short-game versatility, especially from greenside bunkers.
